What Can Be Repaired
As a general guide, chips smaller than a £2 coin and cracks under 15cm can usually be repaired, provided the damage isn't directly in the driver's primary line of sight and hasn't reached the edge of the glass. Our technician will always assess the damage on-site and give you an honest answer before starting work.
How Resin-Injection Repair Works
We clean the damaged area, apply a specialist resin under vacuum pressure to draw it fully into the chip, then cure it with UV light and polish the surface flush. The result is a repair that restores the glass's structural integrity and is barely visible in normal light.
Insurance & MOT
Most comprehensive UK insurance policies cover chip repair with no excess to pay, since it's far cheaper for insurers than a full replacement claim. A completed repair also satisfies the MOT windscreen damage requirement, provided it sits outside the exclusion zones set out in the MOT inspection manual.
